Extend Your Roof's Life With Expert Restoration Technology
Roof restoration is not a universally applicable solution, and the first service we provide in every restoration inquiry is an honest assessment of whether the candidate roof actually qualifies for restoration treatment. The key criterion is substrate integrity: a roofing system with widespread decking rot, failed structural fasteners, or membrane material that has lost its adhesion and physical integrity is not a restoration candidate regardless of how appealing the cost savings would be. Our inspectors in Valdese, NC use moisture scanning and structural probing to determine whether the existing substrate can adequately support a restoration coating or overlay system, and we present clients with an unbiased comparison of restoration versus replacement outcomes for their specific situation.
For roofing systems that qualify for restoration, the process involves several preparatory steps that are just as important as the coating application itself. The existing roof surface is thoroughly cleaned of all loose granules, oxidation products, biological growth, and contamination using appropriate washing and treatment methods. All seams, flashings, penetrations, and mechanical fasteners are inspected and repaired before coating application begins. Any areas of compromised membrane or shingle material are spot-repaired to create a continuous, sound substrate that the coating system can bond to effectively. Drainage channels are cleaned and corrected to eliminate ponding water conditions that would otherwise degrade the coating prematurely.
The coating systems we apply in Valdese, NC restoration projects are elastomeric formulations that remain flexible through thermal cycling, create a seamless waterproof barrier over the treated surface, and in reflective versions significantly reduce solar heat gain. We specify coating products from established manufacturers whose systems carry measurable performance data for tensile strength, elongation, reflectivity, and service life under specific exposure conditions. Application rates, primer requirements, and cure times are followed precisely because improper application is the primary cause of early coating failure, and we do not allow shortcuts that would compromise the restoration's effectiveness or longevity.
Roof Restoration Approaches We Use
ApexShield's roof restoration services in Valdese, NC include elastomeric acrylic and silicone coating applications on asphalt shingle, metal, and flat membrane roof surfaces; TPO and EPDM reinforcement overlay systems for membrane roofs with sound substrates requiring additional waterproofing performance; modified bitumen cap sheet overlay installation on built-up asphalt roofs requiring reinforced surface protection; and complete restoration package services that combine cleaning, repair, flashing upgrade, and coating in a single coordinated project scope. All restoration services include pre-restoration moisture scanning to confirm substrate suitability, and post-restoration documentation is provided for warranty registration and insurance compliance purposes.
